Led String Lights, A.K.A, fairy lights

I was looking at www.agreensupply.com and they have LED string lights which can be connected.  These lights look to be similar to the ones on ebay coming from China, Hong Kong called fairy lights.  Have any of you used these types of lights for your LOR displays?  How do they hold up? Thanks for your anticipated response to my question....yes, I'm a rookie.

They look great, they don't hold up well at all. The wiring is too thin and the lights aren't sealed well so they rust soon after being exposed to the elements. For indoor lighting they are great.

Thanks for the first hand report.  I suspected that they were pretty flimsy from the pictures and was reluctant to buy any, but appreciate the real feedback.     Is it my imagination, or are the LED lights running higher now, as much as twice the cost, than you can get them for in-season?

I noticed a near 33% increase in cost from one of the well known suppliers. Example 100 m6 pure white 24 per case $313.00...Same lights now on "tax sale" at $428.00. Still waiting on my pre season sale to be shipped, (I paid long ago) however the higher priced (same lights) can be shipped right away.

I looked at one on thier site http://www.agreensupply.com/led-string-lights-blue-color-10-meters-or-32-8-feet-long/  Unless I am missing other strings on thier site. I would try to look for strings without a chase controller on it. Of course you could always bypass it. Also they are not weather proof. I never bought those strings on ebay I have seen similar ones in the above link that sells for $2 plus 11 shipping for that price I would rather buy with a vendor I can trust that if I have issues they will help me out. One of the prefered vendors is CDI and HLE
