What speed can the current USB-RJ45 Serial adapters handle?

I have seen some of the posts referring to the RJ45 adapters having trouble running at the 500k speed. Are the adapters being sold today, 1-APR-2013, an upgraded version with a chip that can handle the higher speed? I wanted to buy one along with some CCP for sale tonight!!

From what I understand all adapters since Oct-Nov 2012 are the high speed ones
