orchidman
Christmas 2013 will be my first year and I am starting to program my sequences. I had planned for 4 arches (9 segments each) but looking at the Grab sale on Monday and the prices of the CCRs, I am questioning if I should try to get 2 CCRs for the 4 arches.I had planned on wrapping each arch segment with a 70 count white LED string.I have seen threads about using a 16 ft CCR for 2 - 8 ft arches. Will I be disappointed in how bright the CCRs will be vs the LEDs? A negative is that I will have to also learn to program them while still trying to get the sequencer under my belt. I have 2 sequences about finished using the LEG strings that would have to be resequenced. On the positive side is that I will now have more then just white available. Cost is just about a wash if I can get 2 strings on sale.I would appreciate any comments/input on which way I should go.
LightsinMaine
I personally have used CCRs for arches just for the mere fact more bang for ur buck. They look great and are super bright.
Tony Shepherd
I have also wondered about this. This will be my 2nd year and I have just built a 7 channel arch with warm leds as most of my light are bulbs I am switching to LEDs with warm as cool is the wrong light. Would I find I could match the warm style with a CRR ?
hawgfan
This is my first year and I bought 3 reg. controllers and 2 ccr's for arches and have gotten great advice on here on getting them going, I have them hanging in my house for now while sequencing them and they are much brighter than the led's I have hooked up at the same time also so much easier to mount and you don't have to wrap all those sleeves, plus you have 2 million colors, the only downside is you can basically only see them from the front but I wouldn't let that stop me from getting them. plasmadrive
I personally like the "wrapped" look of the stings vs the CCRs.. I can't do as much with a single color wrap, but I still like them better..
k6ccc
I expect to do some arches this year that will use CCPs inside 1 inch PEX pipe. Each arch will have 11 feet of pipe with 50 CCP LEDs shining into the pipe from the back side. That will give me a LED every 2 1/2 inches. Looked good when I played with it last fall. orchidman
Thanks all. Guess I will try to go CCRs tomorrow evening depending on how fast I am at the keyboard and my internet connection. Gary
