John2571 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 What do you think about adding 4-6 of these into a christmas show? I was going to add them on the overhang above my door and use a few haze machienes so that the beams could be seen in the air for a cool visual effect. These would need to be placed into a waterproof enclouser. Do you think it would be a good idea? Suggestions? A link to the fixture is bellow .ThanksJohn http://www.claypaky.it/en/products/sharpy
james campbell Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 i have seen a few displays on you tube that use those type lights. I think it looks great but the neigbors may not like it
John2571 Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 The good part is that my neighbor across the street us up high on a hill so I have a great area for my lights to be aimed at. I have already asked her and she said it would be no problem. I would also limit the pan and tilt of the fixture so it would not go onto any of the neighbors houses.
Ken Benedict Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 There's 49 of those lights still available; just check the quantity and whip out your charge card. They're at http://www.gearsource.com/catalog/stockitem/sharpy-moving-beam-light
LOR Staff Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 ... And those are used, not new so you'll be saving even more Assuming a PF of 1, you'll probably need to add some additional circuits since each draws approx 6-7A @ 115V.
iflights Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 You could buy a lot of pixels, and build several pixel-based mega trees for a much bigger wow factor for the nearly $6K they want for each fixture.
