Looking for controllers and cords

Take a look at other threads here in The Coffee Shop. There are some people selling their controllers. You might also look on eBay, sometimes you can find a pretty good deal.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing you know about the LOR Store, right?

All are gone by now. Was hoping I might get lucky.

And if you had a dollar for every time a bartender heard that lament at closing time, you could buy LOR and never again have to worry about having enough controllers... :D :D

No bad feelings for what people want to give, and I commend all that did, but where does it end?

People asking for free lights, people wanting sequences.

What happens when the next person ask's for free lights or controllers and does not get them?

Will they complain to LOR that so and so got this and I didn't? Now Dan has another problem on his hands. This is not a cheap hobby folks. If you want free stuff handed to you all the time, go elsewhere. If you need advise or a few little thing, we are here to help, but my God, there is a limit.

I have no problem giving advise or help out as far as that goes, some of my extra stuff I have laying around, not a problem, but it has to stop at some point!

I feel I am a very generous person and give alot of things to people in need, but if you want your display handed to you, do not ask me please. I am to the point of logging off and say good luck to LOR and all the "gimme people" and finding a different forum to log into where people actually want to learn rather than beg.

Some of the most knowledge people have left here because of the stuff that goes on here and I'm sure, in the near future, several more will go away leaving the less informed to answer the questions that they can not.

I hope I can help a few people with their displays and give what I can, but I do have my limits.

shfr26 - Don't think he was looking for anything free.

I do (though I don't think it will ever be admitted, but based on some other threads around here lately I suspect that he was throwing it out there, hoping to "get lucky" if somebody offered him a generous deal.)

True...I'm just looking to save some cash, not looking for handouts.

Believe what you want. Look at my other posts and you will think differently. I also have a current deal with another forum member to buy lights.

Trust me when I tell you that soldering takes very little skill. I purchase 4 of the kits my first year (the ones that need to be soldered), completely by accident. While I totally messed up the first board by not following the directions. I put the other 3 together without any issues at all.

You would be amazed by how easy it is.

BTW, the first board that I messed up. I sent it back to LOR to see if they could repair it. They could not, but gave me a great discount on another one.

Agreed. I've never soldered before either. I've always bought the premade boards, but to save a few bucks I bought 3 of these kits. Invested in a digital soldering iron and gave it a shot. Soldering went easy (found a youtube video with some great hints). All the boards worked just fine when I was done. One developed an issue connecting to the LOR network, sent LOR support a help ticket, they offered up some suggestions, which I tried and now that one works flawlessly too. I'd leave it open as an option as LOR is quite helpful if you run into some issues.

are these kits that require solder support LEDs and have the same features as the new assembled controllers. I see their site shows that these are the older boards with through holes?
