Ron Boyd
Can you remove the Macro channels from a CC Device in the SE without any ill effects. I never use them and probably won't.I'll be using Nutcracker a bit this year and it will make copy and paste a lot easier.Any thoughts?Ron
Ken Benedict
I moved them to a different Track for the same reason. It left the pixels open to program easier with. The added benefit is that if you DO want to use the macro functions, all the CC devices are grouped together to play with.Related: it came up in another thread, but if you want to change the entire device to single colors quickly, change the Macro channel pixel count to 1 then the entire CC device will be whatever you put into the first pixel. This maked the entire CC device one pixel. It was mentioned to solve a network traffic problem, but it can also be a programming shortcut.Have fun. Ralph A
I did delete mine from all my CCB'S and CCR'S. I have experienced no problems in any way in the last two years. I figured if I needed them I could always add them back in.
ItsMeBobO
The macro channels can be very useful. But I too move them around. SE will skip over them either way if your group is a CCR group. It asks you is this a CCR question. What I do is create the device in my main track. Then duplicate the device to another track. Then degroup it and move the macro channels to another area. As stated above, you can SNAP every pixel to the same color with the resolution of 1. But the main reason I do this is to see pixel one or 1-5 right next to the macro channels instead of separated by 49 more. I will try to post a picture as I think its useful to keep the macro channels but out of the way.
Ron Boyd
Thanks for the reply's gentleman.I am in the process of doing what Ken suggested. I am moving them to another track. It's a little time consuming, as the SE won't let you group those channels inside of a CC device. It's one at a time. However, it will let me group them after they are in the other track.Ron
ItsMeBobO
Degroup the entire thing...then you can group all the macro channels and move them.
Ron Boyd
Grrrr. That's a bit of info I could have used a while ago. 16 total CC(x)'s and all those Macro channels, one at a time.I'll know that for next time. Thanks Bob Edited January 5, 2013 by Ron Boyd
