TSO

We went to see TSO for the first time ever on Saturday.

If you're a fan of their music and haven't seen them in person, you're missing one of the best concerts you'll ever see! (And having been going to concerts for over 40 years, I don't say that lightly.)

When they say, after two hours of solid music: "We've got over a million dollars worth of lights in here - how about we use them?" it's time to get ready to be totally blown away. I'd say unbelievable, but I've seen it with my own eyes. Their pixel count is probably equivalent to Fast Eddie x 100.

Can't wait to see them again!

Ya, been a few times myself now George. I learned one major thing, location, location, location. First year I was on the floor back on the right side and just a few rolls back from the sound board. Great show, had those gas flash things just to our left and could really feel the heat. Then a gal with a violin and guy with I think guitar come running back towards us and then they got on a stage that raise up not 10 feet away. 2nd time we are in the front 1/3 back from stage on the floor again. Well wouldnt you know it they had a catwalk that they got on and came out above our heads, directly over our heads and we didnt see a thing during that part of the show. Otherwise the concert was great. And if you pay attention there is some light show going the whole time. And great music to boot. Just wont go to a show after Christmas. To me and wife this is a primer to Christmas, not something to see after the 25th. But glad you could still enjoy it after the 25th.

Given the option I'd rather see it before Christmas too, but I had to go when they were playing. Got the tickets from a fellow light-blinker - 24th row, main floor, dead center. Choice...

George, does that put you right in front of the guys on the sound board? Well if you where center, was the far enough back if they are still using that cat walk that drops down out of the ceiling? Dont even know if they are using that again this year or not.

The lights were blindingly bright when I saw them. But I still could not stop looking at them. Would have needed sunglasses if I sat as close as you did George.

I totally agree, best concert ever. I've seen them about 4x in Houston, TX. performing their Christmas Tour; and about 3x in Beaumont, TX. performing their Beethoven Tour. Ready to see them again.

MP, I went this year as with the past 5 years.

The cat walk was awesome and I was on the floor in the center as it lower over me. I loved it. (my seating was in the center and centered between the stage and the soundboard booth.

For this year (2012), they did not have the cat walk but instead two platforms on each side of the stage that rose out of the stage about 30' and swung over the audience.

Each year they change up all the stage lighting design and mechanical things. That's why I have to go every year.

Best show ever.

Saw them in Nashville, unbelievable show.

No video can do them justice but this guy did an excellent job of capturing the East group opening song.

Phil, were you at the 3 pm or 7:30 show. I was at the 3pm show and it was fantastic. They had had 2 days off and it was there first show after Christmas, they played the best I had seen them, I had seen them 3 other times.

Hi, Doug, I was at the 3 PM show, lower level about 5-o-clock to the stage. I too think it was their best ever show. I have seen the Christmas show for the last 7 years and Beethoven last spring. They do manage to "change it up" every year.

I found it interesting to see that a lot of the lighting effects were being manually "played" by the lighting director using momentary keys tapped out in time to the beat.

So he uses the "Tapper Wizard" too :D

George, we saw them in Columbus Ohio at the Nationwide Arena on the 30th of December and I couldn't agree more! Loved that pyro and flame until the wife said "No pyro, flame bad, water good" and proceeded to tell me how I should do animated fountains. I told her I would if LOR ever released that fountain controller that's been rumored for years :)

Had the privilege of seeing them in Tampa before Christmas. It was incredible! Amazing musicians, lights and special effects.

This has become a family tradition. We have had seats from the front row to the box seats we were given this year. The cool part about that was that the lasers were focused on the wall below our seats and the lower deck and the wall above us between the upper deck. We were sandwiched in lasers. We enjoyed seeing them focus on a different album/cd for the first half of the show as a change this year.
