columbus27
Next year I would like to add some flood lights like Cracker (CDL Kevin) display. But before I start this project I know that if I put in 5 units I would be pulling 200 watts per unit for a total of 1000 watts or about 9 amps. That is a lot of juice. I think in the next few years the US is going to start phasing out the old school incandescent. My question is what are some of my options to get that same effect? caniac
I have been using LED Flood lights from WowLights but this year I will also try and add RGB Floods and Wall Washers.
columbus27
I was thinking about the wall washers. But in most peoples videos they had them going from down to up instead of up to down. I was thinking of getting them form a strobe light effect on Halloween but I don't know how they look going down a house.

Jerry
I use LED floods I found on Ebay and added color filters. One seller has them in 10,20,30 & 50 watt , these are the complete fixture type. I use two 20s and one 30 for each color. Lots of light and no issues with amps. Fade & ramp well , just sequence the way you want.
Jerry
Another thing I've found with floods. If you're watching utube videos, they almost always look better on video than they do in person.

But the 200 watt bulbs are now 120 watts. Go figure; it's the government at work again. And the 9 amp load is small compared to how often it is used.Another way to view it: if you left all 1000 watts on for an hour, it would cost about 20-45 CENTS, based on typical kilowatt costs. You would probably use them much less than full on. Caleb Linburg
Shenzhen lighting was selling some LED floods at a good price. Idk how bright they would be. They just stock white but I asked and they said they would be able to make rgb for a slight higher cost. Let me look for a link.
Caleb Linburg
If you can't see this image, let me know. I couldn't find a link just a PDF. And it won't let me attach that. They do accept Paypal also. Edited December 31, 2012 by Caleb Linburg

Jeff Messer
Only thing I did was hook them up on a channel and they did well. Been using them for two years and not a single issue yet. Just make sure to get the same brand if you go this route.
