rainyoregonchristmas Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Christmas came early tonight! Somehow I made it on a Christmas light tour. It warmed my heart down deep to see an "Airport-er" style bus parked out front of my house. It was perfect timing too, as soon as they pulled up my show hit a really fantastic song. It's fast and I had pulled out all the stops for that song. They stayed for a good 10 minutes until they had to move because they were blocking traffic, so they pulled around the corner and stayed another 5-8 minutes. -RainyOregonChristmas
Max-Paul Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Congrats on making a "Christmas Lights Tour" list. I had what is a Old folks transport bus that looks like what you had. Here in the Metro St. Louis, MO this is called Oats. I have a security camera out front and with the night vision I was like "What the heck is that out there". So, got up and looked outside. Thats when I figured out what it was.
Mwhite7097 Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 The senior center near me makes a trip every year in a mini bus. Because I have a parking area, I hold a spot for them (actually 2 spots so they can park sideways). Other people have asked me to hold spots for them as well, but no dice. Only for the oldsters. I hope they turn the radio up a little louder.
Box on Rails Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 "Bus.... hummmm..... I have a bus. lets look at this post. (clic) Bus tours. Not the kind of bus I have but I guess I do Bus tours of local Christmas lights . I'll write something about it." ........ I have been running my display for 2 years now and I love to share it with people. I have a 1965 VW bus with a sliding rag top so I sorta have a tour bus. Let me explain. It has become a sort of tradition that when a group of people come over to see the lights I invite them to come along for a short tour of my little town to see all the other homes with dancing lights. We pile into my bus and head out. it's always cool when I pull up to the homes with all the little heads sticking out of the roof. My friend Brian always plays Santa at his house on the weekends and he passes out hot chocolate so his house is a fun stop especially because he is running a 12 CCR tree The people are at awe over that thing. As of now, there are 3 homes here in Highland, California with LOR and 3 others with large displays with a cheaper system. I live right around the corner from Kevin Dunn at Creative lights displays and when he gets up and running again I plan on making his display one of my stops. I think it's awesome that the public is getting to enjoy in the fun we have every year with this cool hobby. Keep the buses coming. Happy holidays allKenny Jure
