harrison0550
Show is scheduled to stop in 10 mins but there is a line of cars out there. Can I keep it running without any interruption?
Tim Fischer
Too late for you now, but you can go into the scheduler and extend the time, save it, and the show controller will pick up the change and go on as if it were always that way (as long as you catch it before it goes into shutdown mode)That said... extending shows can be a slippery slope. I used to do it... then right at the end of the 'extended' show another car would show up, so I'd extend it again... Where do you stop? These days I run strict hours, 9:30 and 10pm. There are virtually always cars when the show shuts down. But you gotta end somewhere...
Ed Slonka Jr
I do the same as Tim. Stop at 10 pm even with cars watching. Check out the link below. The Demented Elf has free voiceovers and I use the "CLOSE" at the end of my show. Now I don't feel bad when it closes with cars watching.Edhttp://www.thedementedelf.com/remository

harrison0550
Thanks guys! Ive always been strict about mine shutting off at a certain time as well but with the neighbors being as awesome as they have been about it this year I had to let it run over last night. Had one neighbor call asking if I could let it run long for family that just got in town. When I looked outside and saw the line of cars still sitting there at 10 till 11:00 I couldn't think of a single reason not to let it run. Thanks for the tip Tim.With the addition of the facebook page this year I've gotten a lot more feedback from people and learned some of them drive a long way to see the lights. So my thinking on it is if everyone around me is cool with it and people are out there I will let it run till the sun comes up or the cops show up or realistically until the last car pulls off lol. jeffl
I just adjust the time on the computer back or forward. I used to do as Tim said but also quit doing it at the end. I did do it last night as I was filming and wanted to start a couple minutes early.Just make sure you don't adjust the date. I did this when I was having rain issues on a Saturday night and set the day to Sunday somehow and I looked out and my show had stopped early. Dave Batzdorf
Another way is to use the Show on Demad feature. It wil run forever, unless you specify a time. If you dont specify a time you can watch for no "show people" then shutdown the show manually. I do this when I need to run the show earlier than the scheduled time.
