msiebri
Hi,This is my first year with an animated display, and I am having trouble with part of my scheduled show. I started with 4 controllers that run my megatree and some candy canes around it. I have 4 songs sequenced, and everything was working perfectly. Then I added another controller to control the lights on the side of my house where the megatree is. I want those lights to be on all the time during the show (5-11 pm). So I built a simple sequence that has them all on for 10 seconds, and I set the show to not turn them off after that sequence. I put this sequence in the show as a startup sequence. When the show starts as shcheduled at 5pm, the status window shows the startup sequence running, but none of those lights on the 5th controller come on. But if I then disable the show and then re-enable the schedule (at 5:05 pm for instance), those lights do come on when the sequence runs and stay on all through the show just like they should. But the next night it will do the same thing. I tried moving the sequence a background sequence instead of startup, but that did not change the behavior. Any ideas on what is going on? Don
If you have not already done so, go ahead and run the LOR Verifier. (Available in the LOR Control Panel, where you enable shows.) This might give you clues as to what the problem is.Perhaps the verifier, combined with the output of your LOR Status Window would give us more information. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would cause the problem.
msiebri
Don-I ran the verifier. it gave me a bunch of warnings, but they were all related to unused channels. So I guess that leads me to a different question, is it best practice to remove all unused channels from sequences? I left them in because I am anticipating adding them in next year, and I hope to start work on that in January.
Don
There is no reason to remove the unused channels from the sequence. Leaving them in there is fine. You can right-click on the error in the Verifier and have it ignored in future tests.I'd be interested to see the output of the LOR Status window when it runs this evening. If the verifier isn't showing any errors, then perhaps it's something 'simple' and will jump out at you via the status window.
msiebri
I was working from home today, we have a small blizzard going through. So I setup a special schedule entry to run the show this afternoon, and of course, it runs exactly like it should, with the lights on the 5th controller coming on and staying on. I'll see what happens when the regular schedule runs tonight, it will start in about 90 minutes. I have screenshots of the LOR status window and the schedule editor, but I can't figure out how to include those in my post. Could you explain how I do that? k6ccc
What level of license do you have? If you have a Basic Plus, you can only control 4 controllers.
msiebri
I thought of that after my first post, but I checked and I have the Standard level of license. The show ran perfectly at 5:00 tonight. I must have changed some setting when I had the show or the schedule open to collect screen shots earlier today, but I have no idea what I could have changed. If it works again tomorrow night, I'm going to call it good and get back to planning things for next year...
msiebri
Well, the show ran perfectly again last night. I don't know what changed, but I'll take it. Thanks for the suggestions!
