Denise Brunner
I am Blue about my Blue lights. Is any one else have problems with their strings of blue LED's. Right now I have probally 6 sets of blue lights that have sections of lights either very dim or totally out. I bought the lights about 3 years ago and compared with my other colors the blue have a lot to be desired. We spend a lot on commercial grade lights and they don't even last three years??? Anybody else having trouble ?????
George Simmons
I'm having some issues with LEDs I got from Travis Froemming in 2009/2010. As things turned out with him, I'm not surprised. Disappointed perhaps, but not surprised. On the flip side, I've got LEDs (Sunbeam brand, half-wave, replaceable bulbs) that I got from Menards in 2005 or 2006 that have never had a single bulb fail. Go figger... Edited December 19, 2012 by George Simmons
TGabriel
My blues from walley world and CDI are going on 4 years with no problems. I had one string from Travis go bad the frist year and the rest are still going after 4 years. All are still as bright as the first year.Thomas
Mwhite7097
Almost all of my blue from Enviornmental LEDs have failed this year (year 3). But all my blues from CDI are going strong, save one.
LORisAwesome
I seem to lose more blue LED strings than any other. I have at least three problem blue LED strings on my mega tree right now. The bottom 1/2 of these strings are out, and as murphy would have it -- they are on the side of the tree that faces my audience.I have some that are three years old, but, I have replaced bad strings with newer strings, so I don't know how old the failing strings are.I thought I was the only one having this problem. I got mine from CDI, I am hoping it was a bad batch, and I'll eventually get through them. I saved the bad strings, so I'll try to fix them with my new LED Keeper.I do have some brand new blue LED strings on my roof (also from CDI), and these are working fine. Santas Helper
I purchased R,W,B & G LEDs from CDI back in 2006 and every string is still working perfectly to this day. They must have been manufactured on a Wednesday
LORisAwesome
I should have contacted Paul about this when I first had trouble. I did not, so it is on me. I know he would have stood behind the product though.Jerry
thebiggkm
I noticed the same thing on 1 of my blue strings out of 12. Got them from CDI about 3 years ago. I didn't even notice but the wife made sure that I knew.

Denise Brunner
The blue lights I have are from CDI also, I spoke to Paul and he said he knows of no known problem with them. Most of my lights that are out on my display are from CDI and 95% of the strings that are bad are Blue. I am looking to add a good quantiy of lights this year and don't want to make an investment in lights that only last 3 years. Might just have to just do red, white and green. IMHO I would stick with blue in the display and stick with CDI. You take the same chances with other companies but at least with Paul and CDI, you will get customer service like no other if there is a problem in the near future after getting them.Have you tried the LED string fixer thingy they have out now? Don't remember what it's called.

A friend said he was able to do it.Jerry
iresq
I have lost about 20 strings of CDI's blue c6 100 count strings. These are the strings that replaced the other blue strings that liked to catch on fire. Blue incans were a thorn in my side for years with color fade. LED blue keeps the heartburn rolling. David Rise
My green strings are all failing this year. I don't know what the deal is. None of the other colors (Red, Blue, White) are having issues. 5 green LED strings so far this year. 1, went out completely. 1, half the string flickers, 3, others either the beginning or the end of the string is out. Pro grade LEDs bought from CDI. I have no issues with Paul, nor CDI. Just strange that it's one color.
Santas Helper
Wow,I've been ordering all four colors of C6 LEDs (different lengths) from Paul since 2006 (thousands of $$$ worth). Not one problem with any of them.I can't help but think some might have mounting/storing issues or power flux or dirty power issues to have such high failure rates. BillyT
Denise- what size are the blue lights? Just curious.I also had a problem this year with one string of green. Paul had a replacement in the mail before I pressed the SEND key! I haven't tried to chase the problem with the LED keeper yet (this time of year I get pretty DONE working on the lights). Denise Brunner
I am having problems with the C6 blue's. If it was due to not clean power, it wouldn't be color selective. From what I can tell the Blues just seem very touchy and for the money we spend on light strings, 3 years is a very short time. My lights are not even just balled up they are kept on spools of are attached to molding, those don't even get any strain. I was supprised that Paul didn't even offer to replace them at a discount or something. I think blues will be out of my display.
Santas Helper
Just to add, each color strand will have a different config of pods (rectifier/stuff). So different colors might react differently to dirty power. Don't know, just sayin.
Max-Paul
mounting/storing issues or power flux or dirty power issues to have such high failure rates.Sounds like they might need a flux capacitor and travel into the future where they solve the Christmas LED light string failures.
