Garry Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 When upgrading when does the annual start date start?By calendar year or actual date of the upgrade posting date.Garry
Garry Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 The current software.I was trying to upgrade from 3.8 to 3.8.2 but seen 3.9 so I upgrade to that. What happened I upgraded to 3.9 today but my software upgrade is only good for up 3.8.. I can not go backward to 3.8 as the software will not load, so I am in demo mood in 3.9. The only way I can think of to slove is is to either delete 3.9 software which will remove all of my work and reload back to 3.8.2 software and start over.

Don Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Can't recall off the top of my head if the uninstall will remove your data or not. However, unless you've changed the defaults, your data is stored in the "Light-O-Rama" folder in the "My Documents" section of your computer. Copy that directory to another location, just in case, and uninstall LOR. Then re-install 3.8.2.Your license (which is nothing more than your ability to upgrade to new versions as they are released) is valid one year from the date of purchase.
Galen Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I experienced the same situation a couple days ago. I thought I could upgrade to 3.9, but my license was obviously only good through 3.8.x. (That is, I was left in Demo mode of 3.9 and you can't go back to a earlier version with the installer). I simply uninstalled 3.9 using windows (from the control panel) and then installed 3.8.2. It was not problem, no data was moved or lost and I was back running in just a few minutes.
k6ccc Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 There is a reason the software download page has a reminder (in bold no less) to check your license before downloading...
TJ Hvasta Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) Windows Control Panel, Programs, uninstall LightORama. Your files (seq & audio) will remain in the Documents folder (or wherever you put it). Download the version your lic supports, install. Put in (copy/paste only) the lic from your welcoming email into the register window. Open Seq editor, click Help, Register.. yes, you will have to do again! Close Seq Editor, reopen it, you should be set. Look at the title bar, should say the version your lic is. Edited December 15, 2012 by TJ Hvasta
