bea
Well, couldnt be stuck at more of a 'beginning' than just trying to get Showtime to run on my computer. I've downloaded it 3 times and run the wizard several times and it won't run. When it did offer to enter the registration key, it was not accepted, even after reaquiring it from the Light o Rama site. I'm actually a computer savey person, yet I can't get this simple thing to work. Is it going to be a struggle like this all the way? the LOR support page says to click 'save' instead of 'run' at the beginning of downloading, I'm not given an option, only 'run' or 'cancel'.I really want to get started!help appreciated!bea
Don
Right click on the download, and select "Save As" - This will skip the browsers built in handling of the link.If after running the install from your local computer (which it doesn't sound like you have been able to do) you are still having problems, let us know. Orville
Interesting, I've actually ran the software directly from the LOR site and it installed just fine under Windows XP Home Edition. So I do find that odd that when the OP runs it directly from the LOR site that it doesn't install.Could be the version of Windows the OP has, although I did it under Windows 7 Pro and had no problems installing it directly using the Run option from the LOR site.Could be the firewall settings on the OP's computer and/or possibly the Anti-Virus software that could be causing this issue.I had to actually add the LOR software as an exception in the Avast! Anti-Virus software I had installed, as it kept giving me errors and wouldn't allow the LOR software to run on my laptop, yet LOR was installed BEFORE this particular Anti-Virus was installed on my laptop. So if they have any anti virus software, check and see if that may be BLOCKING the LOR software from running properly, if at all.
bea
Hello, thank you for your replies, sorry for my rant yesterday, just want to see if I can throw together a quick mega-tree sequence for our family gathering 24th and as practice for next year. I asked a more computer savey friend, who explained that the program does not run like Photoshop, but has separtate functions in separate files. I was expecting too much. Where do you suggest I look for the best 'getting started step-by-step'. thank you!
Don
Where do you suggest I look for the best 'getting started step-by-step'.thank you!Take a look at the S3 Video Tutorials. Things you will want to focus on right now are creating a sequence, a show and scheduling the show to run. You'd also need to make sure you understand how everything is connected together. See Typical Setups for info.
bea
Am watching the you tubes, thanks. I had trouble registering, nothing would come up when I clicked on control panel. Went to sequences file to register, went thru. Now I click on control panel to get started and it tries to open a website on insurance comparisons. What happened? Don
It sounds like you have something very wrong with your computer. Clicking the LOR Control Panel shouldn't be opening a website on insurance.Would recommend running CCleaner, Malwarebyes, and any virus scanner you may have installed. Orville
Second what Don says to do. Sounds like you may have either Malware or some type of Virus on your system. The LOR Control Panel should never open anything other than the LOR Control Panel.
