sasmuse Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Hello All! Been having fun looking at everyone's videos for this year. So much creativity! It's great! I'd thought I'd throw my videos into the mix. Enjoy and let me know what you think! WilliamS Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Boy did that title throw me off. Ive been watching the Simpsons from Episode 1!That CCR tree is great, I know soon everyone will have one but everytime I see one I love it that much more! Great show and thank you for sharing! 1
sasmuse Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Thanks! The display was given that name by a friend, and it stuck. I think if I changed it now to something else people would be confused.
WilliamS Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 The night before christmas had me cracking up! I know me again but still great show. 1
PeKu Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Absolutely love your show! very well done lots for the imagination, but not over done... 1
bcharls Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 hi there Pls can you share your Sequencing and your music with me I live in South Africaemail : bcharls@mweb.co.zaThanks
ScroogeLightsUp Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Love the little tree's singing. Not sure where you got those or how you made them but I would like to get something like for my display. Great job ! Thanks !
scubado Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I think this might be my favorite display so far. Great songs, great sequencing, not over done. Each song totally unique from the others.I have a question on the dripcicles in the trees. Do you have more than one channel being used in each tree? I noticed they don't fire all at once, but drip only once. I think they are a little slower than mine too. I have seventy tubes in two trees, they seem to drip in unison and has it's own cool effect.
sasmuse Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks! For ScroogeLightsUp : I created the singing trees last year, and Holiday Coro has licensed the design. If you want you can purchase just one tree or the quartet. The link is below. That site also offers some of my face sequences as well as some of their own. The sequence price is really reasonable.http://www.holidaycoro.com/product-p/100.htmFor Scubado: My dripcicles were purchased at Home Depot. The icicles and the tree lights are all on the same channel. They were relatively inexpensive. I have two sets in each tree. Also, if you leave them on longer, they drip intermittently. It doesn't show up very well on the video, but you definitely notice them when you're viewing the show. I wanted to add a little visual interest without breaking the bank. I had maxed out my display budget this year by adding 4 extra ccr's and switching the mega-tree over to LED's. No money left for snow tubes...but I did look.
GS Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Great work Sally, as always!Love the talking trees and the ribbon tree. How tall is the ribbon tree?Merry Christmas,Glenn
sasmuse Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 Hi Glenn,Thanks! The ribbons are 16'-4". At the top the ribbons are 1 inch apart with a 1 inch drop on each ribbon starting from the two center ones and working out. We attached them to some sort of vinyl sheathing that Roger found. They're anchored at the top and the bottom and seem to be pretty stable so far. If you're interested I'll find out what the "stuff" is called.
Jeff Messer Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 +1 on the singing tree's. -1 on trouble shooting them.. LOL
harrison0550 Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Looks awesome Sally! Your trees are a hit in my display. Everyone loves them and I always make sure to give full credit to you and your niece for coming up with an awesome idea. Merry Christmas! 1
scubado Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the response. Are you selling copies of the singing trees? I've seen them in other videos and was wondering who was making them. Do they come as wire frames or ready to go? Edited December 5, 2012 by scubado
sasmuse Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Hi Jim,I'm not selling copies of the faces, but Holiday Coro has licensed the design, you can get them from them. I've included the link below. They are made out of white coro. The design is punched onto the coro and instructions are given for how to attach the lights. My faces are attached to a pvc frame and hung on the house. In addtion to the faces, Holiday Coro also sells the sequence files to go along with them. (Average price is $5 per sequence). If you need more info feel free to PM me.Good luck,http://www.holidaycoro.com/product-p/100.htm
Jeff Messer Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 What's the problem? Sally not really a problem but climbing that ladder to pul the pins to work on them is the pain. When I use the blackbox to find the bulb that is bad all the lights are so close that I have remove them to hear the sound. I have enjoyed them so far this year and the people love them. Every now and then I have a network issue that will hang a channel up from time to time. Thanks again for all your hard work in making this happen.Jeff 1
sasmuse Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Simply amazing, as always Sally. I saw your work at the Gardens last night too... Awesome!JeffThanks Jeff! You're very kind! How's your display?
