Severex
I can't figure out how to change the default directories for audio files and sequences once the software is installed. I even reloaded the software, and it skipped over the directory question. I also tried uninstalling which gave me errors, and then I relinstalled and still no option to set the directories. Is there a text file somewhere that I can edit? Or a file that I can manually delete and then reinstall?Thx.Now back to building controller kit #2 of 6....... Randy
You'll need to edit your computer's registry to make these changes. Be careful, this is done at your own risk...A backup of your registry in advance would be a good thing.* Press the Start Button in the lower left corner of your desktop* Click "Run"* In the blank command box, type regedit* On the left hand side of the Registry editor screen, there will be a directory tree. Expand the selection HKEY_CURRENT_USER by clicking on the + sign next to it* Below that, similiarly expand Software* Go down further, and similiarly expand Light-O-Rama* Below Light-O-Rama, click once on the folder named Shared. An open folder symbol will show next to it.* On the right side of the screen, there will be two items you'll want to edit. One is called Audio Path and the other is called Non Audio Path* Double click on either one of these two names and a new window will pop up where you can change the value.* Change the value, and then hit Ok* When you edit these entries to your satisfaction, close down the registry Editor, close any LOR software you have open, and restart.* The new values will then take effect....I hope that helps you out.....Randy
Severex
Thanks Randy.... One thing I failed to mention. The reason that I'm reinstalling LOR is I just bought a new laptop with Vista, and I can't even find the RUN button. I'm guessing your instructions were for XP, and when I do run across the RUN button, I want to make sure that these instructions will work for Vista too.I'm sure that I will eventually get used to Vista, but right now I am very frustrated with all the "access denied" messages that The Admin gets. Not to mention the fact that my Canon printer doesn't have a Vista driver yet (if ever).Dave
John Sauer
Just E mail Dan at LOR he will send you a fix as he did for both of my Vista computers. He is the best. Happy Holidays
Severex
Yep. Dan is the best. I was just trying to give him a break and see if I could use the forum to get my answer. The less time he spends on Cust. Support, the more time he spends on getting LOR II out....Thanks Jeff! I did figure out the "new run button". Appreciate the confirmation on the Regedit commands. I'll give it shot.Dave
JonB256
You can also open a "Run" window by doing the Windows key and the letter R.
