watsac Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 This is my 3rd year and the street traffic is really starting to grow. Thanks for all the info you put on your posts; it has been most helpful in learning sequencing. In addition to the traditional Christmas songs, I like to include a recent hit so for 2012 it had to be Call Me Maybe. Here's a youtube link to the video...timing is a bit off due to issues I had with overlaying the audio onto the video but the local ABC afffiliate liked it enough to come out and do a story. Let me know if you want a copy of the squence - only 32 tracks. Here’s a youtube link for this year’s Call Me Maybe song: Here’s the link to the Channel 2 story:http://www.abc2news....e-light-display.

Is that some sort of fabric over the lights? Looks like the fabric absorbs most of the lights so it appears that the whole window lights up. Also love the mega tree, are those c9's? Should I assume you arranged them that way (three red, three blue, rinse, repeat)? Email me at chet27604@yahoo.com!
ezimnow Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Would be cool to do ezimnow@yahoo.com......Thankyou!
watsac Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 With regards to caniac's prop question, there is no fabric over the lights. We have light colored (room darkening - haha) shades on each window and keep them down during the show so the lights tend to reflect nicely off of the shades. Could also be that each window has 150 micro LEDS which is very bright. I use 3 strings of 50 on each window in case 1 string goes bad, the other 2 will keep the show going. The mega tree is also micro LEDs - 2400 of them (48 strings of 50). The strings are identical which is why the colors repeat the same. I have the tree spread out over 8 circuits - 6 consecutive strings per circuit. Make's it easy to program that spinning effect. Last thing is the mini trees - they are upside down tomato cages wrapped in 150-200 micro LEDs. Not sure if tomato cages are a nationwide thing but in Maryland they are used in summer gardens to manage the upward growth of tomato plant vines. A such they are round V-shaped cages, but when you turn them over they become A-shaped and make great skeletons for little trees. Just have to remember to buy them during the summer because they are nowhere to be found at this time of year.
