Nutcracker: Bug fix for spirals

Ok, spirals should be fixed now.

There was an issue where in a two color barberpole, for example, the second color would be black instead of the color you choose.

as a bonus, i also fixed something that i had intended to work. If number of rotations = 0, you will get vertical bars from the spiral effect.
