I've managed to sequence the effect properly, but am having problems with the physical build. I've got lights on the roof line in clips, but when I try to hang the icicle lights to the same clips, it throws everything off. How do you set your lights up to get the effect to work properly?

If I am not mistaken and you are talking about the icicle lights, what he did was add a second row of icicle lights to the first about 9" down. I connected 2 sets of icicle lights and hung the second set off the longest strand on the first.

I hope this makes some sense and helps.

You're not using a line of lights on the roof combined with the icicle lights?

You'll need to have a space between the large bulbs up on top of .your gutter and the icicle lights of at least 5 or 6 inches. They make a clip to snap onto the J channel that is below & behind your gutter. Found them at Lowes last year , but not this year . PM me with your email add. and I can send you a pic of the clips. Hope this helps.
