lewishj
Hi all. I have a network problem, and don't know which way to attack it. I have 4-16 ch controllers and 6 CCRs, running on a mini director. I noticed, that while playing, the show would slow down during complicated parts, and be a jumbled mess trying to play catch up afterwards. It ran somewhat better on the PC, still not optimal. I tried all the speeds and everything I could find in the forums, but nothing helped til I started removing controllers and their programming. After determining that my network can only handle the 4 controllers and 3 of the CCRs at best, apparently I need to add a network. I've never done this, so I'm clueless. 1st, can a mini director run 2 networks? If so, what all do I need to have and do? If not, I assume that I will have to use a PC with a couple of usb adapters? I would prefer a method with a director, if possible. Any advice on what to do, would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!!!!Lewis
Don
The mini-director can not run multiple networks. (Nor can the current Showtime Director.)For multiple networks you will need to run from the computer. Each 'network' is going to have it's own USB485 adapter. Depending on what version of software you are running, you would either use the LOR Network Configuration program, or define the networks in the sequence editor. You will also need to edit the sequences so that the correct controllers are assigned to the correct networks.
