Here is a picture and video of my setup. This is my first year with LOR and I have borrowed and adpated sequences from many places and people. Most of the vocal sequences came from Hoilidaycoro. Gangam style is mine, as is the Vincent Price portions from Thriller, vocals for Boogie Man, some of the Phantom vocal parts from Phantom of the Opera, Addams family vocals and the vocals to Nature Trail to Hell. I don't remember everyone I got everything from, but they have my most heartfelt gratitude for helping me through my first big project. I know I still have lots to learn.

We have very broad front yards in our neighborhood, but narrow streets. It makes it hard to get everything in one shot, even with a 16:9 ratio. I would probably have to be standing on my neighbor's roof to get it done properly. This is the best I can do for video footage so far. My plans to get a better camera for filming were disrupted by other things going on. Maybe next weekend. Here is a panorama view of all the trees, pumpkin arch and skeleton lit up:

Edit: I am also not sure if I am editing the footage right when I add the music in. If something looks off, please let me know so I can line things up. I only have Windows Movie Maker and it and my skills at video editing are rudimentary, at best.

It looks great! You did a good job on your sequences!

Don't feel bad. Everybody is a little slow to respond lately!

I was feeling that too!

Thank you everyone for the compliments.

Video update. I have found an online service that rents video cameras of various types, from relatively simple home style cameras up to professional models. They charge by the day, but if you rent it over the weekend, you get it for the single day price. I didn't discover it in time for this weekend, so I have one ordered for next weekend and hope to have much better video online of the display.

Looks really good. I see nothing wrong with your video quality. You may want to invest in a good tripod for your camera though. Hope you can use the trees for Xmas, that had to have been a lot of work to wrap all of them.

I'm using my phone to record the video, a Samsung Galaxy S III. It takes really good photos and great video during the day. I can't really use a tripod with that. The videos are darker than I want and can't capture the entire display in one shot. I hope to have something better, later. Yes, I use the same trees for Christmas, but they will be wrapped in different and more lights. Is there anyone out there that has a display that doesn't involve work? :D

I really LIKE IT!!!!! The only thing you could try the next time you video the display would be earlier say around dusk that way you could get a little ambient light on your house trees and surrounding areas

I've thought about doing that and still might, but I have an actual camera on the way to shoot some footage next weekend. 45 minutes to shoot and a couple of hours to edit them and then post.

My pumpkin arch took a tumble early yesterday morning from the winds spun out by Sandy, even that far away from the storm. Nothing was really broken. I put a few more screws in it to secure it better and put it back up.

When I got up at 6 this morning, I turned my show on. I made sure, though, not to have the speakers on. It's too early in the morning to have the music be that loud. I'm still transmitting, though. I took my son outside to wait on the bus and watched the lights blink in sequence with no sound and thought, "Oh, that's Thriller." :D

Nice work James!

What kind of skeleton is that you have in the tree? It appears to glow nicely. Are you up-lighting it in anyway?

Its' a GE LED skeleton. It's one of the first decorations I bought when we moved into this house 5 years ago. I've not been able to find another one, like it was a single season thing they did.
