digdeepfundraising
just a quick one i might be explaining this wrong but for example if i have 6 controllers linked together in order 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 linked by rj45 cables if i lose power to say controller number 4 does this mean controllers 5 and 6 will go down too and 1,2 and 3 will still run ?????if that makes sensecheers Danoh and Happy HALLOWEEN everyone
DownTown
No, your downstream controllers will remain online as long as the max distance threshold is not exceeded. I often run my LOR network with controllers powered down. They might not in use because it's not a holiday that I decorate for, but the yard lighting controllers are still powered on, for example.D.T. Orville
As long as your Cat5's are still connected {daisy chained}, loss of power from any controller in the network will not affect any of the other controllers that may still have power. So even if Controller 4 went completely dead, controllers 5 and 6 will still operate, only that section that Controller 4 is controlling will be dark. Everything else will still be in operation. Even if controller 1 lost power, all remaining controllers that still have power will continue to work as long as the network cables are in place.
