k6ccc
This evening I was doing some testing on the bench of using multiple input triggers on a ServoDog controller to trigger various interactive sequence groups within a test show. I was pleased to find that I actually was able to accomplish what I wanted to do.After playing with interactive inputs on the ServoDog controller, I attempted to do the same thing with the CMB16D-QC (firmware version 1.30). I was under the impression that the DC controller board input could be used for interactive triggers. However, it did not work. So then, I went into the hardware utility and when I set the test mode to "Test Inputs", the HU quickly displays "Controller is not responding". So next, I actually re-read the manual for the DC board and sure enough, I appears that the DC board input pins can only be used for standalone operation of a sequence that have been downloaded into the controller. So then I read the similar section of the CTB16D manual, and it appears to be the same way. Lastly I downloaded a test sequence into my DC board and was able to properly trigger it using input 1 (so I know the input actually works). So, my question is: Am I now correct in understanding that only the inputs on the ServoDog can be used to trigger an interactive show? That is likely not an issue for me as I have several ServoDog controllers that I intend to use for a bunch of inputs.
Geoff Harvey
I know that the AC controllers each support digital inputs for triggering shows under computer control because I have used these on a CTB16D for the last 3 years. In the store under accessories there is a CTB16 header board which connects to the 18 pin header on the controller. http://store.lightorama.com/ctinco3in.html , For the CTB16D, this provides 3 inputs / board. The data sheet that comes with the header indicates that on the PC & K boards, only 2 inputs are useable. http://www.lightorama.com/Documents/CTB16_HEADER.pdf,WRT the DC board, I don't know whether it supports the digital inputs because I have never had a need to check this out, and the DC boards are not mentioned on the data sheet. While checking the LOR site for the above links, I could not find any reference to this header anywhere except in the store, and the data sheet does not seem to be listed on the support page documentation.Hope this helps someone.
