That would vary from customer to customer and product to product. I've had several checked but no problems.

Do they have a charge for checking the package?

I've never been charged any packages being opened and inspected or any extra import or tariff fees for stuff I've bought that was shipped from China.

But like someone said, that could vary from customer to customer and the item{s} being purchased.

I purchased 1 string of lights from Ray Wu it had a sticker on the box saying that it was inspected.
