rlmoore
I added a new controller and noticed fade down 100 to 0 doesn't fade. I am guessing there is an issue with the board. Can this be fixed or is this controller toast?
David Rise
My fading issue was with the lights themselves. Some of the retail lights that I used had fading issues.I don't remember where I saw it (here, PC, or DIY site), but someone talked about adding a resistor to the end of the string. Some folks use one of those electric air freshners. But the ones that I did this year have a resister. Just a blank plug that you can buy from any hardware store, and the resistor is wrapped around the two points. Sealed with silicone. Plug into the end of the string.Maybe if someone else remembers what I am referring to, they'll be kind enough to chime in.The resistors are from Mouser (same type that are in the Gen 2 boards), the plugs I got from ACE. -klb-
Use the HW utility to be sure that the on/off dimming curve is not selected. Be sure you have tested with a string of incandescent, and on line power, not generator or inverter. Once you are sure you have best case and things don't work, you can get a helpdesk ticket on it. Or if it works in best case, we can try to narrow down what is keeping it from behaving.
David Rise
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5962103/Easiest%20Terminators.pdfFound the link, finally. Folks swear by these. I built 15 of them, just in case I have issues this year.
rlmoore
I swapped out the controller and still having the same problem. At this point I am guessing it is the lights. I had picked up some Martha Stewart LED last year. I will try a couple of the new light strands I bought for this year.

Pretty sure it was Martha Stewart LED strands.I'm so glad I DO NOT and WILL NOT buy anything with Martha Stewarts name on it, no matter what it is!
