DMX newbie can't get rgb floods to sequence seperately

We have DMX controllers in rgb floods from Holiday Coro and have them working and can control them with LOR but only the first line of sequence controls all of the lights.

We went through the hc tutorials and browsed all online info we could find but can't figure out how to control them seperately. From our understanding they where supposed to be able to be controlled seperately even when daisy chained????? We thought they where addressed corerctly with xlights we went though and told it to write to the channels tried it with 1 and saw that might cause issue so redid it starting with channel 2 but no change.

Keep trying to find more info on the forum and online with no luck and just keep getting more confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks wbottomly For your response, so I need to program each light module. Can I do that with them already in the light fixture? I have them already assembled,do I have to take them apart? Just so i do it correctly, I hook up one flood at a time and pull up the xlights program like we did before and enter the start channel and click auto increment. Another question when I do that should it number each individual module as a channel so the flood will take channels 1-30 one for each individual light or will it give the flood 3 channels one for each color? After that is done I just assign those channels accordingly in S3 and I should be able to control each flood individually even after I daisy chain them?

Thanks so much for the help, I am trying to figure this stuff out they are awesome lights and am looking forward to setting them up but keep having trouble. Been trying for almost a week but gave up and asked the experts! :)

Unless you want all DMX channels to be controlled the same, all DMX channels need to have their own address.

Thanks for the help, no I did not want them to be conrolled the same and am working on trying to get addressed seperatly think I got a handle on it but may need further instruction. lol

Just remember that the DMX modules are programmed by the programing software you downloaded from holidaycoro. When you use S3 you will need to +1 the channel in the editor, ie DMX module 1,2,3...S3 2,3,4...DMX 4,5,6...S3 5,6,7 and so on. Also if you use the DMX modules with other DMX controllers they might not play nicely together. I have 5 floods from holidaycoro and four 9 channel rgb controllers that would not display properly on the same universe. It caused me to run 2 DMX universes, one for floods, and the other for all other DMX devices. By the way, the 9 channel DMX boards did not need the +1 with S3 like the holidaycoro DMX modules do.

ok so that we are understanding you what do you mean by +1? the only dmx items we have are from holiday coro so they should be working together correctly. but the strange thing is although it shows we have them addressed when you fill in color in the first channel 2 flood lights come on, remove it and put color on the second channel and all 3 came on, remove that and put it in the third and 2 different lights come on, It is very confusing. Here is a strange question when addressing the modules 10 per flood, are we supposed to address all 10 modules seperately (channels 1-30) in that flood or do all 10 modules share the same 3 channels one for each color? We assumed one for each color and after addressing the 3 channels waited until the light came back on unplugged it plugged in the next flood, addressed it with the next 3 channels and so on. Thanks for you help we appreciate it.

Ok, let's clarify....the holidaycoro floods come with 10 rgb led modules and a DMX module. The DMX module controls the led modules. The DMX module is programmed by holidaycoro software. Your first flood is programmed 1,2,3...R,G,B. Your second flood is programmed 4,5,6...R,G,B...etc...etc. The +1 refers to S3 channel assingnment, let's say flood 1(red=channel 2, green=3, and blue=4) the +1 only means that what channels you program with holidaycoro, in S3 you need to add 1 to the channel.

Better yet let's ask this...do you want all your floods controlled the same or independently?

Sorry, just read an earlier post.

thanks so in the holiday coro software we address them 1,2,3 but in s3 we use 2,3,4 thats what you mean by +1 We will try that and see what happens. thanks again

I dont have the +1 problem. I am using the 3 chnl dmx modules also, the soft everyone is talking about is a utility program that was written just for setting the module addresses. I am using a EnttecPro dongle for my DMX universe. I have been reading thru a lot of posts here, and apparently the +1 depends on which LOR dongle you have, some seem to have this problem while others dont. That is just my take on this. Thats one reason I went witht the Enttec Pro, not to mention the processing loading it takes off of the computer. The +1 is just another headache to manage. Just my opinion.

You would be correct. The +1 is only a problem with LOR adapters.
