Assembled Kits

Hi,

Late last year I purchased 2 CTB16D kits, assembled them, just missed out for Xmas 06.

I have been reading the forum, as I want to purchase another 9.

Looks like the CTB1PC, is compatible, but only rated at 30 amps.

The sale price for an assembled is very attactive.:)

The question is, I live in Australia, were our voltage is 240. Are the pre assembled boards wired for 110 volt or are you able to change the voltage selection easly.

I would not like to fry the boards, as it is expensive to ship to Australia.

Page 21 of the instructions:

For 240 VAC operation, only one jumper on the
center two pins of this header must be installed.

There has been some discussion about this, but while they are rated for 30 amps, they are capable of 40 amps if you put them in a larger box with more ventilation. The boards can't dissipate enough heat at 40 amps if you put them in the stock enclosures. You could get away with short 40 amps bursts though.

Anyway, it won't matter for a lot of people. My circuits are all 15 amps, so it's not like I can run the boards at 40 amps if I wanted to. Even if I put in a new sub panel, I probably would make the circuits 15 amps.

Page 21 of the instructions:

For 240 VAC operation, only one jumper on the

The resistors for the optos should be changed all so the kits come with both values.

I believe its 330 ohms at a 1/2 watt for 220 volt operation. AI

Thanks for all the replies.

I just put my order in for 10. :)

In the comments I mentioned that they will be required 240 volts.

Now to get really busy.

This will mean I will have 196 channels.

I have been building my collection of lights over the last 5 years, plus I bought a heap at the Xmas sales last year, so I think I have the lights covered.

IT warehouse had 3 metre extention cords on special, bought 180 of them, (need to chop of end).

One question that I may ask, with so many channels, how do fellow LOR users set up there computers to help see the channels to sequence them.

Got a second monitor kicking around?? I kno a few people on here who do that but if thats not for u then you can always zoom the channel grids in the sequence editor. its the buttons that have two arrows on them just right of the play buttons

G'Day,

The parcel arrived today, :waycool:. not bad, 10 days from order to door US to OZ.

Note stated all setup for 240 volt.

Now the work really begins.
