KHenry1319
On average, how many RGB strips can I hook to one DC board?I understand that I will get 5 channels but just wanted an idea of how many extra strips I can buy to go with one board. Thanks!! Max-Paul
I suppose there are several factors involved. How far away from the controller? What size wire are you going to use? How many amps is your power supply capable of supplying? How many amps are your strips going to need to operate? What does your manual say that you can sink per channel? Per bank? You have a lot of holes to fill before anyone here can help you.
edvas69
if you work to the calculated specs then you should be covered as nearly all times the actual measured current will be below that of the calculated current. So the standard 30 LED 5050 RGB strip that many are using will draw a calculated load of 1 amp per colour for a 5 metre strip, so that is 3 amps on the common return wire and 1 amp per colour.
