MikeA
I have an idea. I want to either roll out & in or raise and lower the flag during a show. Any ideas on how to do this?
Aaron Maue
A real flag? Or one made of lights?

Jay Czerwinski
A flag display will catch the attention of those that are highly patriotic. Consider trying to follow the guidelines as best as possible on http://www.usflag.org/flagetiquette.htmlMany variations can be tolerated, but I'd suggest at least making sure a real flag never touches the ground, and is well lit anytime it is on display. Sounds like Max-Paul is on a good path for a good DIY solution customized to your needs. Other options might be using a used garage door opener system (or a cheap new one if u can find one), or a video projection screen on a motorized roller and you replace the screen with a flag, or a drop down method like a trap door might work, but you have to manually reload it each time. Lastly, just doing it with lights is more "solid state" and less/no moving parts to fail/break. I guess it would help if you described to folks here what you want to do specifically. It seems MR Obama should read point #3. The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. If I do anything it will probably be made of lights.
