rickodom
Do we have a list anywhere of LEDs that folks have used, that we know are not dimmable? If not, I'll create a site to keep track.Rick
rickodom
Ok.. I figured as much from what I've read around these boards. I bought a couple of sets made by GE and Everstart from Costco... pretty good deal I think for a local buy. It was about 16.50 for the GE set and 17 for the other as it's a 18 ft ropelight. -klb-
Some of the GE strings are not dimable, but others are. I don't know that anyone figured out the details on which are which....
viennaxmas
One trick I have found for the "non-dimmable" ones (they usually flicker) is to add a 10 ct incandescent string in parallel... I had the issue with Martha Stewart ones, and that did the trick. It has something to do with the electronics components used inside the strings. Not a nice solution due to teh energy consumption required, but the added restiveness load stabilized the LED's.
