Guest Don Gillespie
So last week I get a new computer, download LOR on it, get everything set up, seemed to be working pretty good, then all of a sudden the screen goes blue and the computer shuts down, no big deal try to turn it on no luck, unplug it and plug it back in and yes it works, so this morning I am working on the computer and wham back to the blue screen, thats just great so I unhook the computer and take it back, they think it might be a bad hard drive hopefully I didn't waste one of my LOR downloads on a bad computer. oh ya the new computer is running windows 7 anything I should know about windows 7 and LOR?? Ron Boyd
I've been running LOR on Win 7 since I started in June of last year with no problems. Sounds like the PC was a bad one, or like you said a bad HDD. Hope you get it all worked out.
Don
hopefully I didn't waste one of my LOR downloads on a bad computer. If you ever get an error when trying to register, simply put in a ticket at the helpdesk. Unless you're abusing the license, they'll increase your limit for you. Don't worry about wasting one of the downloads/activations.

LOR Staff
In general, HDs usually don't cause BSODs. Yes, some times they can, but not usually. With a new computer like that, I doubt it was the HD. Instead, I'll bet you had bad memory (RAM). Bad memory will do exactly what you described... It'll work for a while, and then without warning BOOM, BSOD. A bad CPU or Graphics card (separate or built in) would be my second guess. After that I would have suspected a bad power supply. All of that is moot tho since you are under warranty. You did exactly the right thing: Bring that box back and get a new one!
HiTechLights
What is the BSOD error? There's been some recent viruses and malware coming out causing issues when doing anything using network to tcpip stack.
