nucmed24
...but so far it has just been frustrating. I'm a newbie, and I really want to get started on playing with and learning how to use the necessary items, but it seems I can't get anything in my hot little hands!1. Lights ordered from MITS are delayed. (ordered all new LED lights)2. My order from Light-O-Rama (starter controller kit) has not arrived after a month of waiting. When I emailed them, the response was "when it ships, we'll let you know".3. The EDM FM transmitter I ordered nearly a month ago has not arrived. I did receive an email that I should get it by the end of September.I guess with this hobby, patience is a virtue.

DevMike
I can't help you with the lights or the transmitter... However for the LOR stuff:If you ordered with 'TryForFree' during the sale, then your order can be delayed up to 8 weeks. -> http://www.lightorama.com/TryForFree2012.htmlIf that is the case, and If you like, you can open a trouble ticket and ask that the coupon be removed from your order. If you do that, you'll be billed the extra 2%, and be removed from both the 'Try for Free' promotion and the free computer giveaway.

Time will creep up on you fast and you will go from waiting to overwhelmed. I will be behind the eight ball a bit this year due to a heart attack and bypass surgery but will re-purpose most of what I previously did. Tim Fischer
By selecting "tryforfree" (I assume you did, or you'd have your product in hand by now) you agreed to have your product delayed in exchange for a significant discount. So you can't complain on that one The MITS issue is frustrating a lot of people, including (I'm assuming) MITS itself. Not sure about the EDM
TJ Hvasta
By Significant Discount you mean the $2.04!!
Max-Paul
Have you downloaded the software and loaded it in your computer? It will be in demo mode, but you can start to make your sequences and learn the ins and outs of the software. True you cant control lights or any of that stuff, but hey you dont have any lights or controllers anyway. But you can get a jump start on the software. Although jump start and mid September is a contradiction anyway.
nucmed24
I did download the program, and used the license key to get the full version. I am done sequencing the 15 songs for my show (I started last January, and I guess I'm pretty much done... maybe a tiny bit of fine tuning left). I do want to record some in between song clips (am going to have my two young kids be the DJ... on the agenda for this weekend). I want to make a radio sign, but wanted to get the fm transmitter and figure out how to work it and test what station I can use. Since I bought the RDS version, I am figuring it will take me some time to figure that out as well. I don't remember selecting the "try for free" or getting a 2% discount on the LOR order. I don't even remember that as an option. But, it is possible I could have chosen that inadvertently and that would explain why it has taken so long.I think it is mostly just nerves of never doing this before, and wanting to get all my stuff so I can set it up, and correct for any issues/problems that I am sure I will have. nucmed24
And it continues... Received an email from EDM today saying that the transmitter I ordered on Aug 20th was damaged during shipping, so they are going to refund my money on Monday, and if I want another one shipped I will have to re-order next week. And if I want another one shipped, I can not use my PO Box because they don't want to take another chance of damage. WTH? I responded with me giving them another shipping address and asking that they me another one express since I've been waiting for over a month now. Disappointing...
