CCB's versus CCP's

I am planning to use some CCBulbs or CCPixels on a large outdoor evergreen tree (extra large christmas tree). Most viewers will be over 100 feet away. Anyone have an opinion about which I should use? The manual states that the CCPixels "are designed for sign construction". Would the bulbs be seen easier, because of their size? Any advice would be appreciated.

don't think you will go wrong either way, the ccp's I think will be brighter but smaller points of light, and the ccb's will have a more diffused light source

You can purchase C9 covers from Ray Wu. $10 for 100 (plus crazy shipping, but mine were shipped with other stuff).

It will save you money vs the CCB, and you can decide what you like better. The fit perfect.

Val,

I have no experience with the CCPs, but I've got some CCBs and I really like the way they look. They're not as bright as CCRs, but at a 100 ft viewing distance, I think they'd be just fine.

The CCP should be in a frame which holds the lens pointed at the viewer. The CCB reflector allows the light to be seen from all angles so holding it firmly in place is not so important.

Also note the important contruction difference. The CCP datasheet says that it can not support any extra weight on the string.
