eeek
Well, you could zip tie the extras and just let them hang out back there. They won't hurt anything. Also, here is a video to help you be more successful in cutting dowm the 100 to 50's. http://www.HolidayCoro.com/kb_results.asp?ID=
bisquit476
That's what I did with my Singing Pumpkin Todd, I cut my lights down to 50 where I needed to, and put vinyl electrical tape on the unused bulbs.
Orville
Black black out caps on the bulbs hanging in the back helps. Especially if the back may be visible from other parts of your display. But if the item uses 30 and change, I'd look for 35 count strings for those small areas and black out any left over bulbs with the black out caps, where a 50 light string would be 20 or more bulbs hanging from the back. MonstrousMike
I bought incandescent strings from aachristmas.com. They have lots of colors in 100, 50, 35, 20, 15 and 10 count strings. It takes a bit of planning to figure out what to order. Here's my breakdown in a spreadsheet. The numbers in parentheses are the actual strings used to match the feature on the face. For example, (50+35) mean a 50 count string plus a 35 count string. I was able to minimize the number of unused bulbs, and used black out caps for the extras. The black out caps are also available at aachristmas.com. Hope this helps! ToddH
Thanks for all the tips. Guess I gotta look for some of those smaller counts. I wanted to use what I had but to use just 20 bulbs and the rest blacked out is extra work that I want to try to avoid if i can already got my work cut out for me, way behind in alot of areas and only one month left, went from 16 chan last year (1st year) to 48 this year....and have had a hell of an issue RL wise that is still lingering for those who remember from the old forums me telling about the flood in my home caused by a construction company... caniac
this is why I went the PVC frame and rope light route, at least for me it was easier to do. Had them done in a day.
ToddH
this is why I went the PVC frame and rope light route, at least for me it was easier to do. Had them done in a day.I hear ya, and its what I have also, but Figured I got these free as a gift so I wanted to try to use them If I can...but might not this year, not sure. Still have one more PVC face to build and have a ton of sequencing to do...currently only have 3 songs done for the 48 channel configuration...and time is currently short but not sure if you remember me last year...did the same thing...stayed up till 3am most nights and for my 1st year, the lights and displays came out pretty good. But then again, was only 16 channels for the lights...this year 48.. Display wise going to use the same setup. Wanted to custom make a fence for the graveyard area but just don't have the time. Also need to make another Fogger Chiller, the one I made last year out of Styrofoam and Drier Vent I think is all busted up.

This maybe of some help in understanding why there are not always "exactly" a specific number of lights:https://www.holidaycoro.com/kb_results.asp?ID=41For information on how to separate 100 ct strings:https://www.holidaycoro.com/kb_results.asp?ID=
TGabriel
I used black shrink tubing on the some bulbs. Where I had more lights I just wrap the unused lights in a bundle and than wrap in black plastic.Much cheaper this way.Thomas
