My impression of Cosmic Color Bulbs

I ordered 3 CCBs and 2 CCPs during the sale. I received them yesterday (yippee!!!).

Tonight, I had a chance to mess with one of them. So I unpacked the first box I have and put it thru it's paces.

Each CCB has two strings of 50 bulbs per string. In one string, about 1/2 of the bulbs do not work correctly. On the other string, they all work.

On the string that about 1/2 are out, there is an open somewhere. Moving the bulbs cause the out bulbs to occasionally blink white for just a moment. So I'm going to now take them all out and check them. Need to see how many work, how many don't work, etc. Also - had to check my channel config a couple/three times. Had some mistakes in there that made it appear more bulbs were out than actually are. I'll also see if I can track down the open without doing anything that'll void the warranty.

So my advice is to check your strings as soon as you get them. Put together a quick sequence that'll have them change thru all three colors (red, green, blue).

My impressions of the CCB are favorable. They appear to be about the size of a C7, and they're pretty bright from all angles. Previously along the roof line I used 5 colors of C7s .. meaning I had 5 strings. These are much more betterer - just about as bright (at first glance), better color pallet, and the colors are better and more true.

I've had my CCB's for about a week. I've had none of the issues the OP described above, although it wasn't the most intuitive thing to set up. (And I'd say they're closer to the size of C9s, but let's not quibble.) As to how they look, all I can say is WOW! Maybe even a double-WOW! The color is rich and deep and nowhere near the obnoxious brightness of CCRs. Sharon wishes that we had more of them and I wish I could afford more of them. But I definitely know what's gonna be the star attraction THIS year.

well i guess with all things tweaking is prime and sometimes stuff can be out of whack to begin with but can be fixed

and if there is a problem let LOR know of it and they make it right :D

A little supprised that there was a problem out of the box but we will of course replace them ASAP. Use the trouble ticket system to get your replacement string. We do unwrap, streach out and test every bulb. We have had CCBs outside running for 6 months and they have held up very well. I hope people will be happy with them.
