Tim Fischer
I have 2 CTB-08's I'm going to part with. These are the orignal Gen 1 boards with 2 connectors for Cat5 (they do also support phone cable with a jumper selection, but nobody really does that anymore). These have an upgraded chip which supports dimming LED's decently. I bought these before LOR offered a real heat sink so they have an aluminum angle on each side for that purpose. 8-channel boards are pretty handy to have - for example if you're doing a row of mini-trees you can place the controller much closer to a group of 8 trees rather than run cables across to a group of 16. They're also great for stand-alone props such as a Robin Wheel, Firestick/Belagio pole, or an arch. The current gen of these boards is $100 in the LOR store, and is not currently available. I'm going to ask $70 or best reasonable offer (the offers come in too low I'll just hang on to them for the future). I will deliver to the Chicago C3 conference for free, or ship to you, adding actual postage costs (probably in a flat-rate box. Thanks for your interest. George Simmons
Hi Tim - a couple questions...Does the firmware suppost dimming twinkles and shimmers? Are these just the boards? Thanks.
Tim Fischer
Hi Tim - a couple questions...Does the firmware suppost dimming twinkles and shimmers? Are these just the boards? Thanks. Both boards are currently in a "homemade" enclosure with "SPT extension cord" dongles, making a 16-channel unit. If someone were to buy both of them, they're welcome to the enclosure and cords as well. If someone needs it shipped, it might not be worth it unless I can cram it all into a flat-rate box. In any case, these units aren't really a good value anymore if you want 16 channels in one place, but it was the cheapest way to do it when I built that box. These days they're much better suited where you want 8 isolated channels somewhere.CTB-08's of this generation don't support "fading twinkle" or "fading shimmer" (the effects created with the 'custom' tool). They support standard twinkle/shimmer and will use that if asked to do the fading version. LOR has indicated plans to make upgrades available to these boards to allow for this and future firmware updates, but as of now, the latest firmware available for these is in the chip.Thanks,-Tim

Tim Fischer
Bumping this (hope that's legal) as I got several inquiries but nobody actually pulled the trigger. If you need any last-minute controllers let me know.To grease the skids I'll lower the price to $60 each or take the pair for $100. In either case I will add actual shipping + $2 to cover Paypal fees.If I can't sell them for this I'll hang onto them for future projects, so please don't lowball me.
