griswald
I wanted to put C9 lights on my house and around the windows, but after looking at the cost of purchasing several hundred bulbs, I'm wondering if C7's would look just as good (and they're a bit easier on the wallet). This will be my first year using LOR (just purchased two controllers), so I don't have a lot of funds left, but would really like my display to look sharp.Any opinions/advice? Thank you! digdeepfundraising
rgb would be sharp but you would need a dc board to run them
-klb-
If you using minleon LED, I prefer the C7, as they put out similar light, they are brighter by virtue of the smaller diffuser.
griswald
I was looking at LED C7's from Christmas Designers and they are Minleon. I'm pretty new to lighting and have only used incandescent C9's on my static displays in the past. I really like how they look, but I just don't have the amps, so need to switch to LED's (as seems the case for most everyone). I'm not too sure what the "diffuser" is, or does, but if it means they'll look just as bright as incandescent C9's, or at least close, I'll go with them. Paul M Krupa
I went with C-7 LED with 12 inch spacing and am happy. You could increase the spacing to save more money, lots of variables for the look you want.
roach.dan@gmail.com
The lights in my display consist of what I was able to purchase $$ wise. I have 9,000 C9s in my mega tree the rest of the display is mix of what I had from various sales. I asked the same question last year and the best advice I got was 'they will all look good'
spomalley
The diffuser is the "cap" over the bulb that diffuses the light equally.
-klb-
To me, the minleon C7 are brighter than a 5w C7, and much more vivid. The minleon C9 is pretty even with the incandescent C9.
griswald
Thanks very much for the input everyone! I think I'll go with the C7's this year and try to save some $. I'm excited to get my display up since this is something I've always wanted to do!
