Do you need 3.5.0 to program CCRs? No.

Do you need Superstar to program CCRs? No.

Is it easier to program CCRs with 3.5.0 (or higher) and the Superstar Sequence Editor? Many people say that it will, though each person will probably have a different answer with regards to how much help they are.

If you decide to get the Superstar Sequence Editor license, keep in mind that is the only thing you need to purchase. Purchasing a license from this page will renew your regular software license as well.

"i have lor 2.9.4"

From the CCR Manual

"Hardware Utility Version

The version of the Hardware Utility appears in the title bar to the right of “Light-O-Rama Hardware.” If the version number is less than 2.4.9, then you need a new Hardware Utility. Download the latest

version of the Showtime software from this location: http://store.lightor...software1.html. This is a full ShowTime Software download that includes the latest Hardware Utility."

"do i have to purchase super star"

Superstar in my opinion is easier to sequence with, once you figure it out. 7 CCRs x 150 Channels = 1050 Channels, and that is a daunting task. Superstar allows you to sequence all 7 at once.

"have to buy 3 usb serial adapters too. i already have 10 lor boxes from previous years"

My understanding, if I remember correctly is, 3 CCRs per network. you could put 1 on with the 10 boxes and 3 each on the other 2 adapters.

You would need the 8 CCR license in Superstar though. I myself, love Superstar.

I hope I covered all of your questions and I hope this helps,

Ron

Don you beat me again :) I'm a slow typist.

Responce from LOR on a different thread; "Now that we have lots of field experience under our belts, we're recommending upto 300 RGB nodes per data network... that's 900 channels to the rest of us. Seems people love the super-fast moving rays and morphs you can do with RGBs in a string putting a significant load on the data network by squeezing all the needed commands down a small data pipe. We call it the TSO effect, meaning we have to assume everyone will be sequencing to Wizards in Winter. Now... if the world was limited to slow moving 'Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire' we'd recommend many more nodes on a network .)"

So you could put up to 6 CCRs on a network, and have lots of fast moving effects. However, you can't go wrong with fewer CCRs/network.

I've got a related question as a newbie. Being this is my first year out with LOR, I've got 96 channels that will run during the show on a single network. I've got one spare controller that will not be on the network. During the sale, I bought 1 CCR that I will play with and test for possible use this year on one song or more. Do I need to establish that on a different network? I'm using the wireless transmitter/receiver and truly, if I buy another set, they still get connected to the same USB ports therefore no matter which path is used, the computer can't address them any faster. Yes, I would plug into a different USB port connection obviously but the USB buss is just that, a buss...a serial interface. Thoughts please or whatever works best for all those using both LOR controllers and CCR's?
