Basic Plus - Cosmic Color Devices

Hey, I'm currently running the basic plus showtime software on my pc and I need to know how many strings of cosmic color pixels I can add to my show. I know the lor website says basic plus can run 4 comic color ribbons in superstar, but I was looking at possibly adding 8 strings of ccp to my show.

Basic plus only allows four controllers. You need Standard - or might as well get Advanced.

The "4 Ribbons" section that you are seeing is talking about the Superstar software, only. Just because you have the Basic Plus doesn't mean you have a license for the Superstar Sequence Editor at the 4CCR license level. If you want to use the Superstar Sequence Editor (other than in demo mode) you would need a separate license.

The limitation that will affect you is the number of UnitID's that are supported. The Basic Plus will support 4 UnitID's, 01 through 04. Anything higher than that will not function.

If you are wanting to add 8 strings of CCP's that would be at least 4 more controller (if you go the two strings per controller route) which would max out your license level right there. As George posted (while I was typing) you will need to go with the Standard or Advanced license level.

Thanks for the advice. I didn't realize the cosmic color device counted as controllers, but I guess that makes sense. I'm not really sure if I'll be able to get ccps this year I might have to put it off for a while, because my main priority is saving for college but I can't wait to eventually get into the cosmic color devices.
