jimswinder Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) and his website is:http://www.creativelightingdisplays.com/ Edited July 25, 2012 by jimswinder
kzaas Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 They seem a bit pricey for something we all use to just share around here, JMHO.
scubado Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Maybe, but his faces became famous for a reason, great work!
kzaas Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Yeah they did become famous because of great work and the RGB effects, but that was because of the fact that it was new to everyone, just like the viral video of the Wizards in Winter song which everyone laughs at you now if you use Wizards in Winter in your show. Its just a fad. I totally respect Kevins hard work and awesome results but their are alot of other awesome looking displays and just as hard work and they still share their sequences. JMHO.
WilliamS Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Its about the time that went into them. They are as good as they are going to get, as well we know what they will look like as they have been seen only a few 10 million times. The price is some what justified, think of the time it takes to do just the mouths. First one I did took nearly a week at 3 hours a night. I would have happily paid 20 bucks for it to be of quality. To each thier own. He is also offering his knowledge, services, and making his display a learning tool for anyone who asks. I dont like why his sequences are online, but I commend him for adding to our hobby where he is pushed out.

JMHO.You are correct about there are many displays that look just as good and worked just as hard. Many people share their sequences…but I would say more don’t share than share. I for one always said I don’t share anything I still use. A while ago I post on this forum about 7 of my 32 channels sequences to download for free. I didn’t use them anymore and didn’t see why others could benefit. Each of those sequences have been downloaded about 500 times (previous forum showed the number of times downloaded)….so in a since, I shared with this community my sequences with 3500+ people.Because my display went viral last year is the reason why I start up a business and became an LOR partner. Selling my sequenced didn’t come easy to me. I put a lot of time and hard work into them….and time means a lot to me. But if I want my business to be successful, then the sequences needs to be part of it. The demand is there and several… like GoofyGuy…believe it’s worth it.Back to the original topic…I will be uploading the house sequences as well very soon. I’m working on it and just to make sure the store page, description, download link, ect is working perfectly. Last thing I want is complains because you paid for the file and cant download.Kevin
Lee Long Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 You can't run a succesful business by giving things away. If the customer thinks they are too pricey then they won't sell. And when compared to the money i have already invested in this hobby, they seem like good value for money to me !!
spomalley Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I agree, I think the quality of Kevins work means that these sequences are very well priced.
MtDew4me Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Kevin is a great guy and I fully support his decision to sell his sequences. If one doesn't like the price, one can always spend their less valuable time recreating them. And, I'm pretty confident they'd end up with an inferior sequence in the end. I only wish he'd put them up for sale earlier.

kzaas Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Kevin, I apologize for making you have to justify the sales of your hard work, your display is awesome and your sequencing talents are pretty cool to say the least. I know it takes a lot of time and hard work as I said before, in fact I have about a five minute sequence that took me two months to create, so I know its not easy.I apologize to anyone else that took offense to my opinion and since you are reading this thread, please make no further comments on this subject and lets get this thread back on topic.

WilliamS Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I use Wizards and love it!I thought it was a required part of the playlist?
kzaas Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 (edited) I use Wizards and love it!Just to say, I still use it too, but I have seen others criticized on these forums for using it.Sorry shfr26, you were posting while I was writing my last post and I didn't get to respond to you. I have shared sequences to those who have requested it and if they requested it, they must have thought that it was good. I don't keep a count of what I share but I have contributed. I don't have a place to store these sequences on line so others may freely download them but if they ask they shall receive.OK back on topic now. Edited July 26, 2012 by kzaas
Santas Helper Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I use Wizards and love it!Me too, and as for the audience, they love seeing it!!! I think Kevin's price for sequences is pretty good myself.

You’re entitled to your opinion. Buying my sequences is not for everyone. It’s not like you said “don’t buy them, they are junk”. Maybe I would be offended then I…..we appreciate you apologizing even though it’s not warranted. Once someone get started and feels offended, then these posts can get ugly fast. So I appreciate you stopping it and putting it to rest.I would like to try Wizards for the first time. Maybe a mix version of Wizards so it’s a little different.Kevin
Don Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 I would like to try Wizards for the first time. Maybe a mix version of Wizards so it’s a little different.KevinThe first thing that came to my mind when you said 'mix version' was, "I wonder if Skrillex has a WiW mix?"
