egrif
I am having a problem with my controllers. Only channel 2 is working. i am not sure I set this up right. I followed the directions, although at one point, I did have both controllers plugged in. Can anyone walk me through or point me in the right direction for setting up the controllers. I have CTB16PCg3 with RS485 adopter. Thanks ever so muchEgrif

shfr26
Did you hook the controller up and find it in the hardware?? Did you give it an ID? Do you have any sequences or are you just using the hardware portion of the software?
Aaron Maue
Shfr26 asks a good question. How are you testing it? With the Hardware Utility? You should plug each controller in, one at a time, and make sure the Hardware Utility can find each controller. This will also tell you what its Unit ID is, assuming you've successfully set them. Once the HW Utility can find the controller, you can use it to test each of the channels.
WilliamS
You have to address each controller seperatly to start with, do you have power on both sides of the board when you doing this, what are you using to test that they are not working as you intend, and how are you testing (load wise, lights, home lamp, spot light, poseidon's trident?) There are a lot of variables to this.I highly reccomend you take it all back to ground 0. Start with setup of the USB485, use the directions in your read me or on LOR's website, then follow to the controllers, once again using the direction on the read me files.Link to the Lor Controller directions http://www.lightoram...6PC_Man_Web.pdfLink to the USB485 adapter http://www.lightoram...ers_Man_Web.pdf Edited July 16, 2012 by GoofyGuy

egrif
Thanks to everyone. Thanks GoofyGuy, I did go back to ground 0. Digdeepfundraising thanks for the video. Seeing the visual was very helpful in that I could see that I had connected everyting properly. However, turns out I had installed and was testing properly, one of the strings of lights I was using wasn't working. You guys are the best and I really appreciate you making me think. I am techie, but have been out of the field for a little while now, guess I'm rusty. One more thing, I'm now ready to start my sequencing for my music. I have a couple of questions, in general, (1) how long does it take to program one song? (I travel quite a bit for business, so I'm a little nervous about getting this done). (2) Is there a tutorial to gude you on how to sequence? (3) Since I do travel, can I download the software to my laptap and program without being connected to the controller?Once again, thank you to everyone. Your responses were speedy and spot on.Digdeepfundraising do you know of any other tutorial videos on how to sequence that I would benefit from? It takes me about 3-7 hours per minute of song, depends on how many channels you have.2. Don't know3. You have 5 seats I believe for the software, you can put it on 5 machines. Aaron Maue
And you don't need to have the PC connected to the controller to do the sequencing. Just fire up the Sequence Editor and go.
TheUltimate
Do make sure you put the music file on your laptop as the sequence editor references its location but doesn't fully integrate the song file into the saved sequence file.
thevikester
There are also alot of FREE sequences out there that you can download, and then just cut and paste to adapt to your layout, if you find yourself in a bind...thats a great way to go! If you go to the Sequencing header of the forums...a couple people have put together links to the majority of free sites...I use them to get ideas when I'm mentally blocked on how I would like to make certain elements, i.e. arches, mini's etc...behave in a given song.
