New Guy - Licence ?

hi all - ive had my system for a bit and am just gettin ready to start it as all my outside projects are up to date..so I received my licence key in an email .. my ? is ... when im asked to punch my key in .. Is it the letter o or is it the number 0.. thanx in advance

Based on what I've seen, it would be the number 0. Though, if possible, you should cut-paste the license over. Makes it much, much easier.

and just remember this "If at first you do not succeced, try, try again" So, if the o does not work, try the 0. But I agree with Don, copy and paste from the email to the product key window in LOR.

You wouldn't register your key on the Light-O-Rama site. Once you have the key, you need to put it into the LOR Software. One way to do this would be to open the Sequence Editor, click "Help / Register Light-O-Rama" and put in your license information.

The machine you are registering will need to be connected to the Internet. If that's not possible, there is an offline registration process.

thanx guys , im registered wooowhooooooo.... now having trouble tryin to get controller on line...I have 3 ports on my lap top , cant find the right port and my box flashing green . not red solid color.. what i doing wrong ????????

thanx for your help guys. but i c from all your suggestion that my prob seems to be my laptop says unable to locate port , any ideas how to fix this,,its a fairly new laptop . ( thinkpad )

ok thanx for all your help . going to dumbass high school didnt help. my drivers were not on and didnt install L O R driver disc didnt help . sorry guys. something that should have taken maybe an hour turned into 3.. again thanx and you guys rock.............................

I've been using the software (demo) for just over a month and about to get the basic licence (to start) and ...

looking over the list for licencing i noticed the stuff that's active and in DEMO mode and i have a couple question on it...

(1) what happens to the demo sections .. do they become active ?.. limited ?

(2) tracks : how does it apply and it's limitations

this is on the BASIC level licence

The items that are "greyed" out, or Demo only are for the higher license levels.. those that are Demo'able means you can play with them, but you either it wont save, or it wont be active, so if you're Basic Level, and Tracks (your question from earlier) are a Standard level feature, then, you can "make" a track but it wont work.

If you make a Track with Basic level (but it's a Standard) then when you upgrade, that feature will start to work even tho you made it with the lower level (if it's even available in Basic)

Only way to activate those features is to upgrade to the higher lic level that allows that feature.

And Hemi.. A big thing to watch for, with the USB485, WIndows typically assigns a comm port too high .. like 10-15, go into the Properties of the USB driver and check/change the port to something a LOT lower.. like 2, 3, 4.. something 5 or less.. the Hardware utility will balk at finding too high a comm port.
