Richard M
I have 7 CCR's. Two of the CCR's each have one pixel (three LED's) that won't light up in red. They will light up in green, blue and a funny color white. If I change controllers it does the same. I've looked at the corresponding channel setting and it seems to be OK. If it's a loose wire, where would I look for it?
spomalley
It looks like the red LEDs have become disconnected from the Printed Circuit Board, this is not uncommon as the CCR is very fragile. It could be just a simple matter of resoldering the LEDs back in place. If you could get a picture of the back and front of the broken pixels it would be easier to find a fix I don't know but would LOR fix it like they do controllers? (And I don't speak for them, but I'd be they would work with you once it's out of warranty as well.)

friskybri
Yah if its under warranty exchange it. I got one this week that has 2 red and 2 blue out in different sections. It was attached to pvc and worked few months back. Took it out of storage to put up the olympic rings and 4 different sections went out. Never moved it they just went out. I think these things just seem to have issues. I attach them to the pvc with kid gloves and they still seam to break. I plan on filling out a ticket on it. figured my luck another will go out during Halloween so I can send them both at the same time. Dont need all 12 till christmas. friskybri
I boxed up the aka bad ccr but I wanted to see if a ccr could be used also as uplighting on a wall. SO I took out the bad one and put it on the floor and now all sections work. I cant figure it out. SO I guess I will keep it but will mark the back with a marker so I will remember that one I had issues with before. Any one know why all of a sudden it works fine? Think it might be a loose connection on part of it. Then when I took it off the pvc it fixed itself. Im at a loss for that.
spomalley
Hmm that possibly is the result of a bad solder joint.
Dennis Cherry
Flex strips are fragile, the components are small and stiff and it is easy to break a solder joint if you are not careful.I had one CCR have the RED out in one segment, turn on the CCR for the color that is out and by taking a small screwdriver and poking around the Red LED and the adjacent resistor I found out the LED would come on by pressing on one side of the resistor. Now this is done by just pressing on the outer cover of the CCR.Repair was made and has worked fine for the past 3 years.
