Don
When you say that you tried to save is as a wave file in Audacity but it didn't work, which part didn't work? The Audactiy conversion process? Or did the issue still remain in the Sequence Editor? It does sound like an audio file issue. I've had cases where I've run the song through Audacity more than once for it to work right. (I have no idea why.) I would try to run the song through Audacity again and see if that does the trick.Worse case, send me a PM and I'll convert it for you to see if that resolves the issue. Frybread
I receive and error from Audacity trying to save it as a WAV file. I tried a different MP3 and it works fine. So I am guessing that the MP3 of the song I have is corrupt.I did some research on the error in Audacity and it has been seen before. So I tried to re-download the song. But all the YouTube and/or Vimeo to MP3 converters seem to to work either. So I am stuck at the moment. The song is long ~8 minutes (A Christmas Festival) I wounder if that is part of the issue? Thanks Folks... Looks like the first thing is to get a good copy of the song and try again. Orville
Should not matter how long the song is. I have songs that I have converted that are 10, up to 15 minutes long, but I don't use Audacity, tried it, just didn't like it,I use either NERO WAVE EDITOR or an Audio editor that came with a video editing software package. Both have allowed me to convert any length song, but both these music editors come in a software package and cost money.I have downloaded songs from YouTube if low on funds to start a song I want to do, but then I also go and purchase the song so I have a clean and proper, legally owned copy of the music. You ,may want to check out Itunes or Amazon to see if it can be purchased directly, sometimes that is the better route than trying to use a downloaded copy using a 3rd party MP3 converter from a video source. But when I do use a 3rd Party video to MP3 converter I use the option of: "old standard, 192 kbit/s, 44.1kHz stereo". This also saves it in CBR format or has everytime I've saved an MP3 from a YouTube video using a video to MP3 conversion program. So the most I ever need to do is either use the audio music editor to trim down the song to a shorter length if I don't want it in it's full length, usually try to edit down to no longer than 1:30 to 2:30 minutes in length. Although some songs I will leave in their entirity, all depends on the song and whether or not it sounds okay if cut down.I've never had to use a WAV file in the SE, always used MP3's, and thus far have always worked fine.So it does sound like your MP3 was possibly corrupted during the download process. This is the YouTube video I just tried, and successfully downloaded the "A Christmas Festival" from: is this the same one you tried? It loaded and converted fine in my music editors to: WAV - standard stereo, PCM WAV, WMA and even OGG formats, since I use those for other software that uses those. I haven't ran it through the SE yet, but will see what happens when I do. Conversion was done as I was typing this post, and it converted the MP3. So, you may want to try redownloading the song again, as from my results, I'd say your MP3 is probably corrupted.Best of luck with it.SS
Orville
Well tried to add this to my reply, but wouldn't let me edit, so here's the additional infoIf you have the youtube video and can load it into a video editor, there are some free ones out there, most will allow you to strip and save only the audio portion of the video as an MP3 or various audio file formats. Just set the options in the video editor to the MP3 format you wish to use and then just save the audio from the video.

TJ Hvasta
If you dont like Audacity (and I do not!), try Goldwave 5.12 (that specific version). I've been using it for quite a while (several yrs), works with XP, Vista, and 7. Small, easy to use and saves in just abt any format you can think of. It will give an error msg when you try to save in .mp3 saying it needs LAME, but it saves correctly without it.
