Ron Boyd
My initial plan on Monday, was to build my CC pixel tree and attach the CCPs to it. Then I planned on trying a sequence to make sure everything worked properly and I can hook everything up correctly. Last night though, I was informed by the better half, that I was painting the bedroom, master bath and master bedroom. Oh well, to be happily married means some compromises, and it's supposed to be a frigid 101o today here in Knoxville.Who's with me? I WISH IT WOULD SNOW, I WISH IT WOULD SNOW, I WISH IT WOULD SNOW, I WISH IT WOULD SNOW, I WISH IT WOULD SNOW!Ah well, looks like an evening here and an evening there to get it done. I still have about 4 1/2 months till lights come on. Wait a minute! 4 1/2 months? GOOD NIGHT! I need to get busy. that'll be here before I know it. SHEESH! shfr26
Was going to work on my spiral tree but, it's the wife's birthday and she said she does not want a spiral tree for her birthday. Some women, just can't ever make them happy.
Aaron Maue
Was going to work on my spiral tree but, it's the wife's birthday and she said she does not want a spiral tree for her birthday. Some women, just can't ever make them happy. That's funny. I'm going to re-string a bunch of minis this weekend. I took all the incans off them a few months ago. Gonna re-string them with clear and blue LEDs. I have 24 minis to redo, but only shooting for maybe a dozen or so this weekend. It's friggin hot out there. KenL_MCSE
Yeah Jeff, I saw the news of all those trees through all those houses... And did you see that radio tower, I have never seen one of them come down before.
rainyoregonchristmas
I wish I was building on my lights this weekend, I still have a half finished firestick I want to test out. Instead, I'm building a shed in the rain, cold Oregon rain. It's only going to get 69 deg here tomorrow, good for building, bad for feeling like Summer. Once built, the shed will house all of the garage stuff currently keeping me from working on my display. No one ever tells you not only do you need equipment, but also lots of space to put these things together. Hopefully next weekend I can weld up the wireframes for my mini trees, snowflakes, and mega tree. I'll try to take some pictures to get some feedback on my designs. james campbell
Dawn set up a 10' x 10' pop-up with a mist hose and a fan. I set up the folding sawhorses and the aluminum bending brake. Started folding aluminum to make frames for pixels. I made a jig that the metal slides along that has a pin for 4" spacing using the drill press with a step bit. It took half the evening to find the right bends but I finally got it. When finished and installed, they look like part of the siding. I can't hang any of them yet as I'm waiting for an order from Ray W. with the connectors in it.The heat was awful, but the mist and fan make it tolerable. As soon as the sun went down, the mosquitos came out and I gave up. The township had fireworks at 9:30, and you can see them from the end of our block. So, I got a little work done on the display. I think I'll do much better tomorrow morning.BTW... The heat created unsettled weather resulted in 75 MPH winds at my sister-in-law's home 45 minutes away last night. Dawn's nephew who just joined the Army in January, was home for the weekend. Dawn gave him a hand-me-down '02 Ford Explorer in 2010. A big tree fell on it in all that wind. It's crushed and probably totaled. Dang the bad luck.Jeffsorry to hear about the truck,we had the same thing here yesterday,it's called a derecho I think it hit many areas from Indiana all the way to the east coast. Anybody who watches golf saw it at the tournament this weekend. It just goes to show you how powerful mother nature is!!!!!
pstigerfan
I did not get any display building done this weekend (like I had wanted to), but I am taking the opportunity to get some sequencing done. I'm at my church tonight for an event, and found an empty office here for a few hours of some nice, quiet sequencing. Hopefully I can get a few sequences nailed out before I'm forced to go back to work.
