fmcaninch Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 How can I ADD a video file to a Sequence that contains an MP3 track? The obvious solution to me is to create the sequence with the MP3 (audio) only then replace it with the video as the media file. This would be the solution for creating a video sequence. My question is more along the lines of adding a video, not audio, to an existing sequence with the audio already.example, lets take say, "White Christmas" sequence with audio and I wish to add a video of Snow and winter scenery. This video has nothing to do with the sequence other than the subject matter and it is simply an added visual for this sequence. Is this possible or do I need to add my audio to the video and replace the media file with the video?
WilliamS Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Overlay the video with the MP3, then use the Video to create the sequence. You can create the sequence before hand and then stitch the video together later. Might have to adjust the start using the nudge tools but not to hard.*edit As I left out the important part of the question, you can replace the media file later.
fmcaninch Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 I kind of figured as much but I was hoping for something a little easier.Maybe a video Overlay or Video Import option of some kind.Basically, I should treat it as if I was sequencing to a video instead of an MP3 by sequencing the Audio then adding the audio to the video and then change the media file to the video with the audio.Darn... I was hoping to cut a few steps out. Oh well. Thanks
WilliamS Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 You would treat the actual sequencing the same. You can use Windows Movie Maker to put them together and trim the video at the same time if you dont have aftermarket software to do it. You just will not end up with an HD product.Sequence the Audio as you have it. If you already have it go for it. Make your video so the MP3 still starts at the same time, then in the sequencer all you need to do is choose your new media file. Easy as making an apple pie with a cross hatch crust.

Gets me going, keeps lights on my mind all day? Ask any baker that crust is a pain the butt, only becuase it takes time and finese. Really adding video a lot easier. Make your sequence with you MP3 then add your audio to the video anytime you decide to mess with it.
jerrymac Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Actually very simple. Once you have the video file you want to use, adjust the length (blank space if necessary in sports) to match the length of your aduio. Using any video editor (I use AVS4YOU as it is affective, easy and cheap). import the audio file you sequenced from into the video file and save the new file (video and your sequenced audio). From LOR change the media file to the newly created video file (rather than the usual audio file). WALA done!
fmcaninch Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Ok, here is what I did and I think it works better with less error or re-editing.If I take a video from YouTube for example and extract the audio from it then I have both the video and audio tracks with the same length. This makes it easier to simply load the extracted audio, sequence it, then replace the media file with the video. No need to move things around to get the timing just right. It fits in like a piece of a puzzle.
