scubado Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I made a quick star burst using the same tubes that were used in the Dan Burst. I'm undecided as to wether I like it or not. First video is with the tubes only. The second video is with the bigger star on. There will be a RGB star as well inside the white star and bigger than the chase star. I would like to hear your opinion.https://vimeo.com/43874421https://vimeo.com/43947045
james campbell Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 chase, hey thats pretty cool. the burts to me looks like it's not working right. I know it is but it don't look right
scubado Posted June 13, 2012 Author Posted June 13, 2012 When I was doing the bursts, I was just plugging it in momentarily, it wasn't hooked up to a controller.
George Simmons Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I like the chase effect but it's difficult to discern the star pattern. With the star on, the chase looks more like a star, but the star outline seems too bright. Have you tried it with the star on but dimmed to maybe 40% intensity?
scubado Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 I haven't hooked it up to a controller yet. trying to decide if I want to keep the idea or not before cleaning up the wiring. I might have time tonight to try it.
gtoyeah Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 What length are the icicles? I assume thats how you made it?
barradas77 Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 From a total noob it seems like a great idea and I like the effect especially in the chase sequence.
scubado Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 What length are the icicles? I assume thats how you made it?Sorry, I missed when you posted. The lighted length is 11". I bought a bunch of them at Menards after Christmas, they don't have them this year. This thread is talking about nearly the same thing at a much better price. http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/23144-snowfall-meteor-light-tubes-from-china-1599-free-shipping/
