double00 Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I was thinking of trying some rgb's strips this year on my house. I was wounding the best way to mount the rgbs to the house and roof line? Do you leave them up all year. I would like to be able to take them down. We do have a lot of wind up here. Any help, Thanks
WilliamS Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 im mounting mine on 1/2 pvc, then mounting that into the window and on shutters with clips.
WilliamS Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 it took me less than 30 minutes for compelte tear down last year.
SoCalJimH Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 GoofyGuy-- "clips", are you referring to something like this? One source== McMaster
WilliamS Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Actually close. The clips used for my window frames are called hurricane clips (Florida Thing) They apply pressure from the side to hold in place. As for the shutters those were just aluminum rod shaped into and S

This year will be the same. We had some rough storms last December here in Florida and not a single prop moved. Even the S clips I made to hang them from the shutters held them on.
dito Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 how does the 1/2" pvc "clip" onto these hurricane clips? and how do the hurricane clips mount onto the house?

Even the S clips I made to hang them from the shutters held them on.I have hurricane windows installed{were already installed when I bought the home}, so my my windows are now even with the side of the house. So I've got to come up with a different way to outline my windows with any type of lights. As those clips are useless for my windows not being recessed.
SoCalJimH Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 dito- check out this link-->CLIPSall will be revealed

They are used to sandwich plywood over your windows in between the brick or trim! Second, if you plan on using 1/2" pvc this year, how was it such a fast tear down last year? Do you have any pictures of both these examples?

I found a place that sells them dirt cheap, and wanted to tell everyone. They are vinyl coated, with the vinyl coming in two colors. White and Black.http://www.gibsongoodtools.com/page2.htmThe one I got was Part# 225-FL. I only paid $0.75 each with shipping. They have 100pc min. By far this was the best place I found for these. Thanks for the tip. I was wondering how I was going to attach them too. Attached files
rgardner518 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I bought these from Ray Wu. Anyone want them, now I'm not going to use them? I'm going to sell all 500 pieces I have for $35 shipped! Here is a picture of them Attached files
DLTSLC Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Hey GoofyGuy, do you have anything mounted to a corner of your house? We have stucco corners and for the life of me, can't figure out how to secure the CCRs to the corner verticals without destroying my stucco Any ideas out there ?
