Hi All!

My neighbor has been using LOR for his impressive Halloween and Christmas displays for many years now. He introduced me to LOR and I thought I would check it out. After playing around for awhile with the demo version of the software I think I just might try it out this year. I will only be able to afford the 16 channel starter kit this year but hey it's better than the static display I have used for several years.

Here is a link to my first visualization. Needs work and I think I can maybe use the channels I will have more efficiently. Disregard the lights in the background picture. It was the only picture of the front of the house I had.

Any advice, comments, tips, suggestions, criticism, etc. are welcome.

I actually have each color as one channel so three channels there (same channels for each tree) then there are multi colored strings on each tree that are on one channel per tree so I am using 5 channels for those or 8 total. I chose a slow song to start with as I thought it would be easier. I didn't realize until I got into it that it was also a pretty long song.

Welcome to the group Chad! You have made the right choice by taking it slow and playing with it to get comfortable. It will be a nice thing to have two houses together doing Sycnhronized lighting!

I used a program called Audials 8 which I actually got for copying my DVDs to my media PC. It has a screen recording feature which is what I used to record the visualization playing. There are probably other screen recorders out there and they may be better but it's what I already had.

looks good from my house,I think you did it right working with the demo and then deciding to go for it. I like the song it would be nice in the middle of your show after a couple fast songs.

Nice work. Welcome to the madness.

Too slow for my taste, like many others I'm more into the faster songs, like TSO's music, but I do have a few slow ones in my show, the Silent Night I used is the one called Silent Nacht, sung in German, just for something a bit different than the usual English versions.

I actually prefer the German version as it has such a pleasant female voice singing it. Actually put it in my show because I had a neighbor where I used to live that had just moved to Florida from Germany, and she missed being there at Christmas. So I actually put that one in for her and it's remained in my show ever since.

She loved it too. Actually brought tears to her eyes when she heard it.

Unfortunately he isn't my next door neighbor. His house is in the cul-de-sac across the street. So it wouldn't really work to combine them. I already know his frequency and will stay far away from it. I wouldn't doubt he is on this forum somewhere but I don't know his username. Here is his website http://www.mnharmonylights.com/
