Locking a channel for strobes

Not in the SE, but the next version of the controller firmware is supposed to have dimming curves, which can do that.

Yes and no.

Use the foreground command and place the effect there. I haven't tried this... but was told it would work. Just make sure you turn off the foreground effect command.

If you have Gen3 controllers you can set the channel to be On/Off only. That is done in the Hardware Utility. In the sequence editor there is no attribute that can be set on a channel that prevents you from setting the channel to a value other than 0% or 100%... As mentioned by wbottomley, after you have created a sequence you can use the foreground tool and the On tool. With both of them selected, select the row with the mouse and it will make sure that any areas that are fades or twinkles, etc.. are just turned on to 100%
